We work only for you
No college pays us to put its name in front of you. Your list is ranked by fit with your grades, goals and budget, and nothing else.
Your answers shape your college matches and what your counselor knows about you. They're saved in this browser.
Counselor chats send your profile and messages to our AI provider to write each reply. When you talk to your counselor, your browser's built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text, which can send the audio to your browser's maker (such as Google, Apple or Microsoft).
Your home state decides in-state tuition at public universities.
Use the numbers on your transcript.
If you enter both, the higher score counts.
Several highly selective colleges require scores again. Your list flags them.
Pick up to four areas you might study.
Up to 10, like the Common App. Clubs, sports, jobs and family responsibilities all count.
Awards, competitions, certifications. Up to 5.
Pick at least one region. Leave size and setting empty if you're open to anything.
Most families pay much less than a college's listed price. We use your family's income range only to show what families like yours actually paid on average after grants. It's never shared.
Only your counselor reads this.
Answer a few questions about your grades, scores and activities. Get a list of reach, target and likely schools, a counselor who challenges your thinking, and a tracker for every deadline.

It questions weak reasons, flags a list that's all reaches, and coaches your essays without ever writing them for you.
Each school shows its yearly price against your family's budget, and whether it meets full financial need, before you fall for it.
We tell you when a school is a long shot. Anywhere that admits under 12% is a reach for everyone, so we say so.
Comparing your grades, scores and activities with each school's admitted students.
A balanced list has 2–3 likelies you'd be happy to attend, 4–5 targets and 3–4 reaches.
Likely: your grades and scores are above most admitted students. Target: you're similar to them. Reach: you're below most admitted students, or the college admits fewer than 12% of applicants.
Order within each group. Each college gets a match score: how well it fits what you told us (majors, region, size, setting, cost) plus how strong it is (graduation rate, graduates' pay, test scores). Higher match comes first.
Match isn't your chance of getting in. That's the colored "Chance" label on each college: High, Medium or Low.
Your likely colleges are ones worth attending. Colleges far below your level move down, so the first likelies you see are places you'd actually be happy to go, not just ones you'd easily get into.
Admit rates, SAT ranges, average GPAs and costs are approximate figures from recent admission cycles. Cost is per year before aid. Middle 50% means a quarter of enrolled students scored below the range and a quarter above it. Confirm requirements and deadlines on each college's site. Schools admitting under 12% are a reach for every applicant.
